we are excited to announce a brand new soundfont-supported sound engine, the lakeside pipe organ. this instrument is a rodgers steel and wooden pipe-electric hybrid organ recorded at the lakeside temple of practical christianity in oakland, california, with organist don sears. this large pipe organ produces its sound by driving compressed air through 850 resonant steel pipes and wooden reeds, arranged in 15 ranks. we captured 6 primary stops to span a wide tonal and dynamic range: wooden flute stops 1 & 2, steel pipe stops 3, 4 & 5 and the bass foot pedal board.
the primary pitch of the lakeside organ is set at 60 – and is represented by a virtual midi note of 60. the volume is represented by a volume envelope (v) and the velocity curve is represented by a seccent (s) envelopes.
the pedal board bank controls the volume level of the footboard, the rhythm section, and the sustain of the organ generally, but does not control the stops. the volume level for the footboard bank is set as a dynamic parameter, so it varies with the input signal and is not directly correlated with the sustain value.
you can edit the switches and switches controls in the soundiron organ’s transport panel. these are just the primary controls you need to know to get the organ sounding right. the transport panel contains all of the control knobs and sliders that you need to set up the lakeside organ and actuate its sounds.
