*When you’re far from home, the public IP may change for multiple reasons:
*The ADSL Internet Service Provider is changing the IP address of the ADSL service. This happens when the ISP does a dynamic IP assignment.
*This IP address change is also triggered by different computer manufacturers, when a different ROM chip is used by the modem.
*During a critical events, such as an ADSL line reset, the computer’s Public IP address is also changed.
*An application such as this helps you to know your current Public IP address. It also sends an email informing you about the change.
*With time, the email address used by the application is adjusted to account for this change.
You can view all these statistics in the application.

*Note: This is an Alpha Release

*Note: If you don’t configure this application before the first boot (and even after the first boot), it sends emails to 3 email addresses, which is the “All” address, and to all email accounts used by the computer. These emails are NOT deleted after sending.

*Note: Once it changes the email to the correct one, it automatically adjusts this new address (So you should delete the old one).

*Note: In case it sends to the incorrect email address, you can delete the email with “Remove From…” function, and send it again.

*Note: The IPChangeInformer application needs to connect to a web site in order to check the new public IP. Please allow the web site to connect to the Internet.

*Note: The application works fine with default ISP provided DNS (when using your own DNS, it will be impossible for the application to get the IP of your ADSL Internet Service Provider, as it doesn’t use the ISP provided DNS).

*Note: The application can be set to a certain interval (In order to not get too many emails, even if the IP changes several times), and it can be turned on and off.

It uses a web page to know current public IP. A default one is given, but you can use your customized own or other. All this parameters are settled by a config screen. You can hide application while running, and an icon is viewed in a task bar.
