Also, I want to hear people’s thoughts on this change as well. Now, I know people have different feelings about Kickass Torrents, but I’ve never really fully thought about it because I just never use that site or see anything bad about it. Are they unjustly tarnished now?
Kickass was a good site. I also tried other torrent sites, the only one that was as dependable as Kickass was the Pirate Bay. I used to be disappointed that The Pirate Bay’s torrents were too large, and that I had to download the torrents. Kickass and The Pirate Bay both tended to be smaller files. They also both were pretty good at keeping their torrents hot all the time. The torrents were always alive, and they seemed to stay that way, since there were lots of other people using the torrents. I remember one time that I had 3 torrents in Kickass, all of which were down for a few days, but none of them seemed to shut down. I’d download the torrents, and they’d be there the next day. That was pretty remarkable.
Ive seen a lot of people bemoaning the lack of built in torrent support, but I never really knew what was missing. Ive never seen the eponymous movie, but Ive been able to find others, like Killing Them Softly (2013) by using clever search methods, especially since the end credits list all the writers and director by name with their credits.
Most newtorrent sites are a no-no for me. Ive tried dozens and lost a bundle of time and trouble before realizing that I can just click on a link in a search result and get to a torrent site directly. In that case, I can ignore whether or not the site is working, as I can always get to a working site. Although when the failure comes up I start with the assumption that my problem is with Kickass, for some reason.
