i’m having trouble getting this to work with a tiny project with a single hc-05. i’m just trying to get this to work with minimal learning. the reason i’m trying to use the mini ble is that i’m using a patch cable, not a usb to serial converter. with the converter, the ble is not working. maybe i’ve made a mistake somewhere i am not seeing.
i’ve loaded the.hex file into the program using the “upload everything but bootloader” setting. i’ve tried both the “5k” and “20k” setting so that i don’t have to worry about wasted bytes in the program. not much different between the two when i try to boot the micro. if i change the “pin” to something that works on the panel, it goes into mode and then causes the bootloader prompt to blink 3 times – just like it should. that really sucks because i need to have a permanent setting that i can use on anything i use with the project.
note that neither of the two programs is exactly the same. the default is working but with the above changes it won’t boot. i would put the third program in as it works but i haven’t the slightest idea where the bootloader is (last 2 commands shows the changes i made).
i have the same issue with the hc05. i have tried the “simple arduino at mode test” app and it shows a “no operation” on all my test commands. i also tried sending a “at” command and i get no response back.
when i power up the module and try to send at commands to it, the leds flash once for a few seconds, then the lcd stops displaying, then nothing. when i send the command via the serial monitor, i get the expected response of ‘ok’.
ok your answer was pretty helpful. i did not know about the existence of the hm-10 bluetooth module and after looking it up it is the one i have and i’m trying to use to set as a slave. the other one is a hc-05 and works wonders, just like you described. the third bt module i have i still can’t seem to understand what model it is nor why it doesn’t go to at mode. it also does not have a button. thank you!
sorry if this is the wrong place to post this. i was looking for an arduino specific place to post my knowledge and understanding of this. i have been working on making my hc-05 radio communicate with my arduino. i am having trouble getting the hc-05 to communicate with the arduino. i can communicate with the arduino in at command mode without the hc-05. i believe it has something to do with the way the hc-05 is configured. i have been trying to figure this out for the past week. i would like to use at mode instead of command mode. i know at mode can be used with the hc-05 but i am not sure how to use it. i am using a hc-05 v3.0, and the arduino uno. i have been trying to read documentation but it doesn’t seem to be very helpful. i have the hc-05 connected to the arduino at pin 13, and pin 11 is not connected to anything. i have tested the hc-05 with an android device, and am able to communicate with the hc-05 using the android app that came with it. the problem is i need to use the hc-05 with an arduino. i have been unsuccessful trying to get the hc-05 to talk to the arduino. it will work using at command mode, but not at mode. this is very frustrating. i have been reading documentation, and have tried multiple things. the hc-05 is unable to communicate with the arduino in at mode. i have tried to change the baud rate, and a couple other things. i need to find out how to make it communicate in at mode. i have had trouble with this in the past, but i am just not able to figure it out. i know it is possible. i know there are tutorials out there, but they are not easy to find. i have searched and searched. any help would be appreciated.
