The Route Incrementally is an advanced algorithm that incorporates Libero’s DRC checks, timing information, and timing metrics with the Layout Optimization module in Synplify. With the Route Incrementally module, Synplify performs a simulation and optimization of the routing each time a new route is generated. Each new route is designed based on the original design, and an optimization can be performed over the entire flow before routing to achieve a fast, accurate, and well-timed design.
A new advanced Place and Route option is available within the Libero IDE. This new option (also available in the Synplify Pro application) enables the user to run both Synplify and Libero for the same layer and design, and obtain the best performance for both from a single creation session. The new program will use the existing layout layout of the original design, and route the new design layer for an incremental increase to the final implementation.
For Libero, the 2-way merge technology allows different files within the same Libero project to be created or modified at the same time, and enables the user to compare and combine different analysis results. With the 2-way merge technology, Synplify and Libero can be used interchangeably for both the Synplify and Libero product lines.
Both Synplify and Libero are re-architected, and their function requirements are defined as bi-directional interfaces. The interfaces are required to be compatible, with no need to change the existing interfaces. For example, it is not necessary to modify or add new elements to a Synplify project file. With 2-way merge and bi-directional interfaces, Synplify and Libero can be used interchangeably, without the need to convert or convert from one to the other.
