fighter maker’s custom moves are stored in a table, defining their technique, priority, and raw content (which of the moves can/cannot be changed, and so on. some combinations are allowed, some not. most important here, they can be changed in mid-animation. this allows, for instance, to have your character freeze in the middle of an animation until the animator changes the move. you can create around 100 moves, on average. to not have to re-create all moves, fighter maker allows you to put down not only the move, but the creation method, as well as various settings. for instance, the priority of the move is the number of punches your character throws. for jabs, you’d use 1. this is rather counter-intuitive, considering that your character is being punched all the time. but as an example, you could have different priorities for damage, speed, duration, etc.

fighter maker allows you to create techniques and move sets on your own. a technique is defined by a character’s attacking mode (whether it’s just a punch, a kick, and so on), the techniques of your opponent (initial techniques and techniques of choice), the number of attacks he can make in a row (maximum combined attacks), and so on. you have to create all the moves needed for the technique. all the moves in the set are then applied on top of each other. the game allows you to have more than one set for a character, and you can even have different sets for each character. you can even define your own set, thus creating moves for your character’s signature move.

the developer of this game has some pretty good credentials. he also worked on the excellent 3d fighter tekken 4. the developer also worked for a long time on arcsystem works’s games (especially their fighting game franchise). the game runs on top of unreal engine 4, and is compatible with unity 3d.
i can’t really say anything about the game, since i haven’t played it. i just know this about it: if you like 3d fighters, you’ll probably like this game. if you like 2d fighters, you’ll probably like this game. if you like both, you might enjoy the hybrid game.
